Alabama Network Operators Group Meetings(ALANOG)
ALANOG is professional development group of network/internetworking operators, engineers, administrators and enthusiast. In some ways ALANOG is a conduit through which workforce development occurs within one of the most specialized sub-disciplines of the information technology/telecommunications business verticals.
OUR HISTORY
During the Fall 2022/Winter 2023 Ben Venable(State of Alabama OIT), Wesley Allen(Alabama Fiber Network) and a few others began to have conversations around a means of connecting the networking/internetworking talent located throughout the various regions of Alabama. After sorting through some of the initial details and planning in September of 2023 the Alabama Network Operators Group(ALANOG) became a reality.
In additional to its original founders ALANOG now includes members from throughout the State of Alabama and the Southeastern US. We currently meet 3 times a year approximately a few weeks before each of our continental NANOG meetings where we proactively work to rotate our meeting locations across the entire State of Alabama.
