During April 1 – 3, 2025 the City of Montgomery, AL hosted
“THE POWER OF COMMUNITY”
South and Appalachian Creative Placemaking Conference
The theme of this annual conference is centered on social and economic justice, equity and inclusion, and grassroots community-led efforts that create positive impact and enhance the quality of life for smaller communities across the Southern U.S.
During the three days of the conference as attendees from all across the United States trekked the historic streets of the MGM keynoters and presenters discussed innovative ideas and concepts around Creative Placemaking. The list of presenters included
- Keynote Speaker Bryan Stevenson, Founder and Executive Director – The Equal Justice Initiative
- Evan Milligan, Executive Director – The Sanctuary @ the Jubilee Community Center
- Rashim McKinney, CEO – Social Montgomery
