Mayor Steven Reed and his team from the City of Montgomery released version 2.0 of the City of Montgomery Open Data Portal earlier today. and IT IS A BEAST TO BEHOLD!! Powered by ArcGIS Hub technology, the platform upon which the new Open Data Portal is built
- Creates a most excellent collaboration tool upon which both City Leadership and the general citizenery can both listen intently and be adequately heard.
- Provides a wealth of tools and services that allow for easier visualization of the data that is shared around policies, desired outcomes, and proposed initiatives.
- Establishes a serious foundational layer upon which both city leaders and regional talent, of both professional and of amateur status, can CREATE, BUILD & INNOVATE their way towards a Montgomery, AL that each individual and the collective group would like to see, experience and share. A Capital City where “Dreams Become Reality!”
Since the relaunch of this portal our team here at the I85Cyber.org have been NERDING/GEEKING OUT in ways that only members of our primary tribe can fully understand. Many thanks and kudos to Mayor Steven Reed and his entire team for having fulfilled a long standing request from our regional tech community.

A few months back one of our “elder” tech community building principals cast a particular vision of “Who We Were As A Regional Tech Community”. It is most exciting to see how so many contributions from so many individuals and organizations throughout the I85Cyber.org Footprint are beginning to align with one another.
